Hi, I’m sam lai (she/her)

I’m based in Toronto, Ontario, and my goal as a photographer is to empower my clients to feel confident in their skin while capturing memories and giving meaning to small moments.

Having had experience working in the special needs industry, there’s a special place in my heart for children with autism, disabilities, and special needs.

I believe in accessibility for all, including accessibility to beautiful family photos - something that falls so far down the list of priorities for busy families, especially for families with children with disabilities. If this sounds like you, please reach out. I am happy to work with your family and within your budget, free of judgement.

My Approach

1 | OUR FIRST DATE

Meet me for a free virtual consultation. This is a chance for me to learn more about you, what kind of photos you’re looking for, and to discuss any worries or apprehensions you may have. You’ll learn more about me and how I work and see if our vibes vibe.

2 | make it official

Let’s make it official! When you’re ready, we’ll sign the agreed-upon contract, which outlines a 30% deposit/retainer to be paid when you submit the contract.

We’ll meet on video once more before your shoot to go over the agenda for the day, details and any other questions or concerns you may have

3 | the day the magic happens

On the day, I’ll arrive at your location and, if applicable, get to know the rest of the party and get everyone comfortable with me.

I enjoy capturing natural, in-the-moment shots but I’m also here to guide you in your power pose, situating you in a natural pose, or whatever you’re going for!

4 | Payment & sample photos

In order to get your sample photos and before receiving the finalized photos, please pay the rest of the bill within a week of the shoot.

You’ll then receive sample photos to either choose your final picks or as a teaser for the final photos!

5 | Getting the goods

What you’ve been waiting for - it’s time to get your goods.

Photo editing is a necessary and lengthy process, so how long it will take to receive the final photos will depend on the type of shoot/how many photos, but it will typically be within 1-3 months.
